- Man Mayal
Number one on the list we have the serial titled Man Mayal. It is a romantic drama serial that aired on Hum TV from January 25, 2016 to September 5, 2016. It is written by Samira Fazal and directed by Haseeb Hassan. The cast features Hamza Ali Abbasi as Salahhudin, Maya Ali as Manahil, Gohar Rasheed as Mikaeel and Ayesha Khan as Jeena in leading roles, with the supporting cast Aiman Khan as beeya, Saba Hameed, Naeem Tahir and so on.
The series centers on the lives of Manahil and Salahuddin who fall in love with each other, but due to their social class differences Salahuddin refuses to marry Manahil. To further find out what happens to the two, be sure to watch the serial.
- Udaari:
Next on the list we have the TV show that made much noise all over social media as it was based on the topic that is considered a taboo in our society. The serial premiered on HUM TV on 10 April 2016 and is co-produced by the creative head Momina Duraid with Kashaf Productions. The show is written by Farhat Ishtiaq and directed by Mohammed Ehteshamuddin. The serial features renowned artists including, Bushra Ansari as Sheedan, Samiya Mumtaz as Sajida, Urwa Hocane as Ameera, Farhan Saeed as Arsh, and Ahsan Khan as Imtiaz.
The story of the series focuses on the social and economic marginalization of citizens in Pakistani society alongside highlighting other deep rooted problems in Pakistan such as child sexual abuse, the uptake of music as a career, false police involvements and negative political supports.
- Bheegi Palkein:
Bheegi Palkein was a drama aired on channel A-plus. It is written by Nuzhat Saman and Mansoor Ahmed Khan. Faisal Qureshi and Ushna Shah star in this serial while Affan Waheed a talented and rising TV star has also made a cameo appearance. The story of this serial revolves around a beautiful girl named Meherbano (Ushna Shah) whose life becomes miserable after her young husband’s (Affan Waheed) death. Meherbano, who was already the center of attention and was very attractive, leads over her sister- in- law Fareeha who was jealous of her and this jealousy doubles when she is rejected by Bilal because he developed liking for Meherbano instead of Freeha and the story continues from here.
