Verna is an upcoming Pakistani social-drama film, directed, written and produce by Shoaib Mansoor under his company ShoMan Productions.
When talking about the theme of the movie and as be-known to all, Shoaib Mansoor has always addressed topics that are considered taboo and makes an effort to highlight societal issues in his films. Likewise, in Verna, the veteran director plans to showcase a story on-screen with an eye-opening message.
The first look for Verna has finally been released and the poster centers on Mahira Khan, establishing that the film is based on a female protagonist. She is a woman injured but stares back at the camera defiant. According to reports, Mahira plays a rape survivor who seeks justice against her assaulters.
In a question and answer session held on Twitter, Mahira has revealed that she signed on to the role because she “wanted to be the one to say the lines Shoaib Mansoor had written!”
Apart from everybody’s favorite leading lady Mahira Khan, the film will also star Haroon Shahid, Zarrar Khan, Naimal Khawar and Rasheed Naz in main roles.
Verna is confirmed for release in November this year.
