The film Punjab Nahi Jaungi, which is to be presented by the makers of the blockbuster Jawaani Phir Nahi Aani, features a star studded cast with Mehwish Hayat, Humayun Saeed and Urwa Hocane in lead roles along with Ahmed Ali Butt, Sohail Ahmed and Bushra Ansari.
Previously, the film makers had released an upbeat song ‘Tere Naal’, and now a new song titled ‘Ae Dil’ has been released which many say they can relate to as it tells a tale of heart break.
The song has been sung by Shiraz Uppal and Indo-Canadian singer Jonita Gandhi. The soft vocals are accompanied by a video which features Humayun Saeed and Mehwish Hayat who seem to have experienced heart break.

The song ‘Ae Dil’ is definitely pleasing to listen, however, the video clearly represents suffering of the lead characters in the film. Mehwish Hayat is apparently distressed who cannot seem to get Humayun Saeed out of her mind and same goes for Humayun. Both are constantly distracted by thoughts of each other.
Additionally, the video allows its viewers an insight into their dissimilar lives. Mehwish Hayat’s lavish, contemporary lifestyle is a stark contrast to Humayun Saeed’s Punjabi, cultural roots.
Now the question remains whether this will work out in their favour or not? And for that the viewers will have to wait to find out.
Punjab Nahi Jaungi is slated to release in cinemas on Eid ul Azha.
